With this types of video (this as an example) we can teach them how to calculate the area of a figure.

In this case in the video just only explain the area of a triangule, but with other videos like this one children will be able to undertand it, and learn it in a more visual way.

Geometry Curiosities

Among all the things we can learn in geometry there are some curiosities that I consider also important to know.

The more you see some images with geometry forms, the more you are confused. It is mainly an optical ilusion.

It creates an effect and your eyes perceive it as if it was real, but not really.

Children looking at this and checking it by themselves they will be able to distinguish if it is real or just an optical ilusion.

Today we are going to promote the Physical Education with the geometry.

If there is any child interested in bikes this video will be incredible for them. Or, in case they do not like, they can be informed about this. And who knows? maybe they will like it and start practising this sport!

To start studying the Geometry first of all we have to know what this is, it means, its definition, what the geometry includes and the purpose of it.

The children will understand this video easily due to the vocabulary that its use is not difficult at all.

After knowing some basic concepts that are in this video they will be able to move forward this subject and thus, go further in the understanding of itself.

Activity in class

We have a subject in the University called 'Geometry's Didactic'.

Today, we have done an activity in class by groups.

WeI consider that it is interesting one, because in this we have defined some words related to Geometry.

It is very important to know the meaning of some words since through that we will understand this science in a deeper way.

The words that we have treated in class are the following:

DESARROLLO PLANO (Planar geometric projection): is the form of a figure made in a plain base.

POLIEDRO (Polyhedron): a solid figure with many plane faces, typically more than six.

is the figure with volume that can have as many faces as possible

PIRÁMIDE (Pyramid): a solid object with a square base and four triangular sides that form a point at the top

PRISMA (Prism): a solid geometric figure whose two ends are similar, equal, and parallel rectilinear figures, and whose sides are parallelograms.

With this, we have created an activity different which we can apply to the last course of the school, because they are the oldest of the school.

The development of the activity would be using papers, where they, by themselves are going to build the planar geometric projection, and later on they are going to cut it. The purpose of this activity is letting them see the figure more visually and have it physically.

Webpage to distinguish

In today's post we are going to see the differences among the polygons, in orden to distinguish them.

The children can learn this maybe by inventing a catchy song or even a dance. If they do this I am quite sure they won't forget it.

Apart from doing this they can do exercises on the board as usually and they will learn also with it.
